Body Positivity Series

Body positivity is a really important thing for both men and women. It's 2014 going on 2015 and I think it's about time people embrace their natural features and loved what they have instead of comparing to celebs, models or even TV personality's.  It's very easy to say 'love your self for who you are' but when kids or even adults now have grown up being put down because of their looks it's hard to suddenly change your perspective. I've never been the most girlest of girls, being a proper tom boy when I was younger with hand -me- downs from my brother, the shortest haircut in history and absolutely no interest in dresses (even for my Communion) I was teased quite a bit for being 'odd'. I always remember one girl saying I wore a wig because my hair was so awful. The saying 'kids can be hurtful' is no excuse and its these kids that should be thought from the beginning to be positive about their body's and never pick on someone else. Moving into secondary school is a big change for anyone and its now that body posivitiy is most challenging. For me I was lucky and found a group of friends who cared about personality over appearance and from then on without the pressure of worrying what others thought I had time to find myself, the real me, the one who has always been underneath but never got to show because of others. I think body positivity is about exactly that.. being you, always. Never let anyone change that. Getting down with the kids here, but YOLO, its your life you need to live it to your fullest and most importantly.. be happy. One of the first steps to achieving that is to be happy in your own skin. I think body positivity is at a high right now in the blogging world and other forms of media. Plus size models are taking over and I think that's the way it should be, only thing I would change is calling them 'plus sized'. Their regular people the people who we actually look up to and their the ones advertising the clothes we would actually wear. I say out with the old ways of having to be a size 6 and in with current beautiful people who can inspire anyone to be whatever they want to be.
So there ya have it my thoughts on Body posivitiy, I would give anything to know I changed one persons perspective on themselves. You can not let anyone tell you your not beautiful, your on this earth because your beautiful, everyone is in their own unique way and that's the way it should be.
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment".

This is my favorite photo of myself because I didn't think twice about what people would think when I got my side shave, I wanted it because its the style I love and I'm glad I did it because it's made me very happy and confident in my own skin.
Look out world there's a lot of body positive people on their way.

Latest movie Reviews

Cold nights in, no better way to spend them with a hot chocolate, some popcorn and a good movie. These are the latest movies I've seen and I'm going to attempt to tell you about them without spoiling them of course.

The Maze Runner
Okay so going with my Bestie on her birthday to see The Maze Runner I was a little skeptical because I hadn't seen a trailer or nothing so I didn't know what to expect. But what I can tell you is I'm MIND BLOWN. Quick brief..  people of all ages are taken from the normal lives and wake up in a forest, but not an average forest as this one is surrounded by a maze, the only way out. Thing is you will never survive a night in the maze and its too big to escape during the few hours of a day. Along comes Thomas and his knew ideas of conquering the maze. I'm pretty sure it's not spoiling it if I saw they did escape the maze, to spoil it would be to tell you about the results of escaping. Let's just say the maze, the world they live in and their lives before the maze are completely messed up and will never be the same again. I really enjoyed this film, was a proper on-the-edge-of-your-seat movie and also had some really good one liners from good old 'Chuck' (Blake Copper). It was so old seeing Thomas Brodie Sangster all grown up since Nanny McPhee, Action lovers and general all round movie lovers will really enjoy this movie. It has                                                             left me wondering will there be a second.

We're The Millers
I was gutted I missed We're The Millers in the cinema but was delighted to find in on sale on DVD.
David your local drug dealer needs to take a 'smite' of drugs over the boarder from Mexico. To do this he comes up with the idea of a fake family on vaccination to cover there backs. Along comes Kenny ( weird next doors kid), Rose (a delightful Stripper) and Casey ( homeless kid filled with attitude) and he has his family. All these random personality's in a camper van, we all know its going to end in trouble. You will laugh more at this then you will breathe. It's a proper feel good movie with brilliant one- liners. Will Poulter (Kenny) really shows his acting skills with not alone an American accent but playing a right airhead. Emma Roberts (Casey) is brilliant at getting the teenage angst across too while also creating a nice bond with Jennifer Aniston (Rose). All hell breaks loose as this 'family' attempt to make it back to America and you will never believe the outcome. No spoilers, but happy ending.

Identify Thief
Another one I missed in the cinema but am catching up on with the DVD. First things first (I'm a realest.. sorry) this movie went places I never thought it would and it was one shocking ending. Melissa McCarthy plays 'Diana' a lovely sweet woman who steals people's identity's because. .well she never said why but it looked fun. When she stole Sandy's (Jason Bateman) though she didn't know he was going to put up a fight. After tracking down Diana, Sandy convinces her to go home with him to tell his boss it was her that maxed out his credit cards. 'Going home' was not as simple as they thought seeing as all 'Diana's id's are under the name Sandy Patterson, and two Sandy Patterson's getting on the same flight won't work, so they have to drive back to Colardo. A road trip with an ex-con is not going to go well and as you might guess it's not all that simple. But after the many adventures along the way they do get back and this is where the real shock begins. I highly recommend Identify Thief for the laughs, shocking moments and actual tear jurkers, if not only to find out what 'shocking' ending I'm on about.

Warm Apple Cider on a Cold Chilly Night

After spotting delish looking  apple drinks served in apple cups on Pinterest I jumped straight on that train.. the train of cinnamon loaded warm frothy goodness. Since 3 O'clock today its gone below 4°C and I haven't been able to see my own hand in front of my face with the fog, so it was a perfect little treat to have Warm Apple Cider severed in apple cups. I found the recipe here and had to make a few tweaks because I didn't have all the right spices, but being a lover of cinnamon that was all I needed. Simply cut a bowl shape into an apple using a knife then scoop out the pulp for the drink. Add an orange, some spices, brown sugar and water to cover and wallah, leave it to simmer for 2 hours, I know it's a long time but what I did was leave it on the range in the morning and then could have it for a little treat after dinner. These are the perfect little Autumn/Winter treat and really get you in the mood for Christmas with the smell of spices in the air. Of course the good part is you do get to eat the 'cup' at the end.. recycling at its finest.

Fun Fact: This is what happens when you try to take a picture of fog with a flash.

What do you think? going to try them? I can promise they are like the best Christmas scents and feelings all wrapped (pun intended) in a drink.

1960's Inspiration

The charity Shop I volunteer in is moving to a bigger premises and were having some Open day celebrations and all the staff are dressing up 1960's Rockabilly style. Now's about the time I would like to mention I was born in 1995 and therefore have zero knowledge about the 60's but after doing some research I think I may have found a new style genre for me. I'm all for dressing up so I'm extremely excited about the day and want to do the 1960's justice so here are so of my inspirations.

                                                              Dress

Bit of a blue theme. I LOVE the petticoats under the dresses perfect for swooshing around. .emm or more appropriately dancing to some good old swing music.

                                                                   Hair

A good beehive is a perfect style for any occasion but they sure know how to do it back in the 60's, I'm still working on getting mine to this height. I think adding a hair ribbon or scarf finishes of the look completely by adding that touch of colour and real 60's vibe.

Make up

I've never seen 60's make up like this before but I absolutely love it. The dark line in the crease is actually a really smart way of opening up your eyes and giving that dramatic dark colour.

Shoes

These are not just 60's shoes the brogues on the left are everywhere right now. I think there perfect little daytime shoes adding a touch of glamour.

Okay I'm totally in love with the 60's now and can't wait to get all glammed up.
What are your favorites about the 60's?? let me know in the comments .

E.L.F me up

I know what your thinking.. ELF?? gosh another one straight onto Christmas once Halloween is over. But you'd be wrong. If like me you'd never heard of e.l.f , let me tell you about this amazing make up brand. Standing for eyes, lips and face its an all rounder brand which caters for all make up needs. The thing that makes e.l.f even more amazing is the price. You get insane bargains for amazing quality and things such as palettes containing 32 colors for just £5. I haven't yet found a store that sells e.l.f unless your in the U.S (target, etc) but buying online is just as handy although you do have to wait for the delivery (sigh). So let me show you whats on my e.l.f wishlist right now.

e.l.f Studio Makeup mist and set. $3

I've been looking everywhere for a good quality make up setting spray instead of using the good old trick, hairspray and this 60ml bottle sounds perfect with aloe vera, cucumber and vitamins all nourishing the skin.

e.l.f Studio mascara and shadow shield. $3

I've never seen anything like this before but it is pure genius. Theres nothing more annoying then spending ages getting your eye make up perfect then finding some under your eye which leads to rubbing which leads to panda eyes.

e.lf Studio Daily moisture stick. $6

Again pure genius. This is such an handy little product instead off carrying around a big old bottle of moisturizer this little stick does all the work. Packed with antioxidants and anti ageing ingredients I can just imagine how good this can be for your skin.

e.l.f Studio 150 piece Geometric Eye shadow palette. $12.00

The pattern on this is a real unique way of having a eye shadow palette and it defiantly caught my eye. I love the dark warm shades and the fact there is so many different shades of the one colour to find your perfect one.

Lastly (for now) these limited edition beauty books are simply amazing. Perfect for creating the perfect Halloween look or simply playing dress up I love the endless looks you can create. $4.80 each.
Diva Beauty Book.                           Enchanted Beauty Book.                 Wicked Beauty Book.

Do you have any e.l.f products?? What are your favorites?? let me know in the comments below

My 19th Birthday Gifts

I had a brilliant birthday this year and was spoiled rotten and I want to show you guys the amazing things my lovely family gave me.

As we start every birthday, my parents and me had breakfast and I opened my presents. They got me the cutest gifts and I can't wait to use them.

This super cool nail art set is amazing. You copy the print with the pen in the set and magically comes out on your nails, I really explained that well (sarcasm) but hopefully you get me.

I have this weird thing of collection snowglobes so my mum couldn't resist here. This one is class though because you add your own picture.
This handy magnetic note pad and weekly planner is perfect as I'm continually keeping notes and losing them. As you can see I'm already using them.

My brother spoils me every year and he did again this year.

By complete coinsurance my Brother got me the Ghost candle holder and My parents got me the pumpkin candle holder. Love them both so much.

This Vegan recipe book is just what I've been looking for, I'm consistently getting fed up with basic foods without meat but this has a great selection of ideas. I'm surprised with my brother getting this as he thinks my being veggie is a phase and he doesn't understand it as he offered me lettuce on my toast for breakfast or to just go outside an gnaw on a tree.

This Minon t-shirt kinda explains itself.

This hat is INSANELY warm I can't even explain it Roll on the snow. And also roll on 2015 to use this adorable calendar. Lastly from my favorite brother this Simply Gold fragrance set with is amazing and smells soooo good. I was too spoiled I really had a great birthday

O

My bro's girlfriend who is like a big sister to me has amazing taste in beauty products and she picked beautiful things for me. This Chit Chat lipgloss set is so cute and tastes like bubblegum. I was gobsmacked when I seen the W7 In the Nude palette because I this came out the day after I got the In The Buff palette, these are just amazing palettes and I can't wait to use it

Also from my Bro's GF was this AMAZING Ellie Mai brush set which I can't even put into words I'm so excited about this there sooo good and just perfect.

Thanks to everyone who made this birthday a year to remember and thank you soo much for the gifts.
