Beautiful Kurdish Museum Event.

I met my Best Friend in secondary school and I wouldn't be the same person I am today if it wasn't for her. She thought me having the knowledge and interest in other cultural's is the most amazing thing you can do, and to be welcomed into one, like I was with her family is something I can never say enough Thank You's for.
Today the Kurdish community in our area held a Kurdish Museum in the towns art center and welcomed everyone to come and see their traditional  dresses, try their homemade (delicious) food and get to understand more about their backgrounds and where they originate from.
Having spent many years with my best friend much of this has become second nature to me, my Mum still finds it really peculiar that I can greet them in Kurdish (Choni) and the fact that I know so much about Kurdish traditions and have such an interest is saying just how amazing of a culture it is.
From the moment I stepped into the building though I became very emotional. My Best Friend moved country over a year ago and this is the kind of thing I wouldn't be at without her. Seeing so many of the girls in Kurdish dresses and just the lovely welcoming people instantly reminded me of her and I'l admit I had to hold back the tears, But despite this I enjoyed it so much because it was amazingly but together and so much hard work involved. There was such a great atmosphere, as there always is at Kurdish events and it really was a great afternoon.

Happy St Patrick's Day

I was well in the spirit yesterday and decided to make some shamrock cupcakes. Now, along with everything else I make for a blog post or video, it goes terrible wrong. They look like a baby giraffe made them.. no offense to any baby giraffes out there. They are still yummy and I've saved them to have with a good cuppa tea before we head into see the Parade today.

Beannacht La Fheile Padhriag ..... (Google it, I had too)

Hope ye all have a fun St Patrick's Day where ever you might be, and please enjoy my sad attempt at cupcakes.

Mothers Day Lunch out

We had been racking our brains for something to do and somewhere to go on Mothers Day and at last my Dad heard that a Jazz band was going to be performing in the garden center not far from us. I know what your thinking.. a garden center Wow really hitting the big time but this is unlike most garden centers, obvs they have the plants and what not but they also have this amazing little cafe with delicious organic ingredients and the coolest Boho decor. The place was packed out and there was a Que forming just to find a table. When we at last got a table (with another family, I shared a seat with a baby) the poor staff were run off their feet trying to get everyone their orders so while we waited we all shared a bag of crisps and lucky enough there was this fun little game to keep us occupied.
When the food at last came I had a really delicious big bowl of Sweet Potato, Split Pea and Coconut soup along with the most amazing bread, I've no idea what they did to it but it was so yummy.
It was a really unexpected quirky Mothers Day but we really enjoyed it and later in the evening went out for dinner with my Brother then had a night in the living room.

This is why its a Garden Center like no other, they have this cat randomly strolling around and it has its bed on one of the display chairs where it sleeps no matter how much people poke it. I promise you this is a real cat and not just a figment of my imagination.

Loving Their Style

I have some major girl crushes going on right now and am so jealous of the way they can pull of their style. I am so tempted to just go out there and try it because lives too short to care what others think, so here are a couple of the Ladies's style I am loving right now.

First up two girls from my new favorite band.. Only The Young.. Betsy Blue and Parisa. Now not only do they have the coolest names ever, they have an awesome fun personality and you see that in the many videos they put up from being on tour, they also have an amazing bond as almost sisters more then just band mates which is adorable. But what we're really here for is the style and these girls seriously know how to do it well. BB (yeah I'ma call her that) has her own fashion blog here  where she has the most amazing looks shown in pictures that any model would die for.
Parisa's style is more hipster I feel and it totally suits her along with having THEE best Ombre ever.

These two together, along with the boys obvs, really look amazing and have got to be the most fashionable band out there.

Another singer and now its the absolute beaut Ella Eyre, along with having the most amazing hair on the planet, an incredible voice and really coming up the charts right now, I was drawn to Ella because of her style. She really can work the whole BoHo/Hipster look and can pull nothing off better than those awesome round hipster sunglasses. I think with Ella, pictures say a lot more then words.. and how freaking awesome is her style!

I can't believe Ella is only 20, her voice is simply powerful. This girl is going to go far...
I think we have a running them here.. All singers and all Boho/Hipster style, but it really is the look I love and another girl that can really pull it of is Bea Miller.
What I would have given to have that cool of hair when I was only 16, but anyway enough of the hair envy... onto her style. Pretty much everyday Bea puts up pictures on Facebook and Twitter of her OOTD and .. well that girl can just rock anything. Bea's style totally suits her rock-chick attitude and older-than-her-years-voice. The fact that she looks like shes just wearing casual, comfortable outfits, yet still looking stylish is the reason I love her, that and her hair.

Okay so it seems to get the awesome style these ladies have
Step one: Own amazing hair.
Step two: Be yourself.
Step Three: Own it.

100th Post

Unexpectedly I've reached my 100th post and unexpectedly today we're snowed in and I couldn't be more happy. I love nothing more then watching the snow falling as it feels like your in your own little bubble, isolated from everything else, with not a sound to be heard except for branches moving with the weight of the snow. I just love it.
