The Case of Beasts

By this stage everyone knows I'm a hardcore Potterhead, and along with the rest of you I was so excited getting a glimpse into the Wizarding world again when Fantastic Beasts and Where To find Them was released. Along with the movie they brought out some really beautiful and interesting books and because i have one amazing boyfriend, I got my hands on the incredible Case of Beasts.

Anyone who has seen the movie or read the books knows about Newt's case and I think this is beautifully incorporated into the book desgin filled with pull out information sheets, fact files and posters including wanted posters of Newt and Tina and a MACUSA map.

I won't spoil the book, (merely tempt you into buying it) *not so evil laugh* with some of the many pull out facts and really cool merchandise as you get one of the leaflets the New Salem Philanthropic society hand out in the film and Tina's MACUSA ID card.
One of my favorite pieces comes on the last piece, a wand permit form that you can actually fill out.

As with everything Wizarding World, this book is magical in many ways.

A Very Potter Christmas

Yes its February, but hey don't we all love Christmas? I know I do, and this year was just magical (pun intended) that I had to share the serious over-doing it with Potter gifts I received. My brother just gets me completely, like he even wrapped up my gifts in brown paper and string stamped with a wax seal.. if that doesn't scream I- know -you -are- obsessed -with -Harry- Potter -that- you- will- cry- over -this -wax -seal, I don't know what will.

I opened the purse package first and was like wow that's crazy I really need a purse.. then I turned it over and seen the Hogwarts crest and inside is written 'Hogwarts Alumni', I cried I kid you not. Like a practical everyday item, yet will show my total geekyness, I love it. Same goes for the Gryffindor backpack, I use it quite a lot when traveling and just love showing off the I'm a Potterhead and proud.
The amazingly wrapped package contained the super cool mugs which I don't really want to use as I know clutzilla over here will drop them, so in the mean time they're on my Potter shelf.
I was so amazed by this Qubbler notebook, I've never seen one around before and its nice to get something totally different.

Later on in the day I opened up some more gifts to find even more Potter gifts so had to retake the collection again. In this lot is the crazy amazing Hogwarts pillow which also is so pretty on the back with little Sorting Hats, brooms, lightening bolts, Phoenix's, owls and pixies.
Next up was a really rare goblet I again haven't seen before and am in total love with. It changes colour when filed with hot or cold drinks which is what I picture how they serve in The Three Broomsticks.
I am totally geeked out for the rest of the year now :)

The 5 Senses

I wanted to do something different then typical chocolates for Valentines and after a lot Pinterest searching I found a really cute idea. Gift using the 5 Senses.

I had this planned for along time but it was a little thrown together on the day, as in my previous post you can see it was a bit mental, but I still wanted to treat himself in a unique way.

Smell:
A lovehearts candle what better thing to give on Valentines.. and to someone who absolutely loves sweets.

See: Although this is another candle I really loved the quote and wanted him to see it and think of our plans to go travelling.

Taste:
I made a bit of an extra effort here going into a Latvian shop (my boys Latvian) to get some foreign sweets which he loves.

Hear:
When I knew about our plans to go to the beach on Valentines I instantly thought of using seashells as 'hear' because obviously we all know if you place them to your ear you can hear waves (actually your own pulse FYI) but also as an extra token to remember our day out at the beach.

Feel:
Who would have known massage oil was so hard to find, I settled for this Argan Oil cream as I use Argan products a lot and know how soft and nourishing they are so knew this would work well while spoiling him with a back massage.

Our First Valentines

As a couple, and both of us separately, we have never celebrated Valentines before so this year was extra special for us. We spent the day a bit non traditionally but in our own kind of way, at the beach... on a freezing February day in Ireland I might add. We took the bus out to the beach wrapped in as many warm clothes as possible then walked from the entrance to the beach all the way along the shore front spotting unique shells and stones. I'm thinking a romcom coming along here..

We managed to find this throne made of stones which was a perfect place to rest looking out at the views and have a sandwich.. although here is where disaster number 1 happened.. there was a dead fly in my sandwich...
The thing I love about going to the beach off season is how quiet it is there and it really felt like just us in our own little bubble really taking in how lucky we are to be able to see such a beautiful place.

After spending about two hours walking along the beach we stopped in the local traditional pub for hot chocolate before getting the bus back to town.
We decided to be traditional here and go out for dinner.. which is where disaster number 2 happened.. a mix up with the orders left me, a vegetarian eating meat for the first time in 3 years. okay it was only half a spring roll but it made me feel ill so I didn't eat after that but of course himself was starving and still had his dinner.

After that disaster we decided to become hermits and live in a fort away from the real world.. no really we built this cute little fort out of blankets draped over chairs with some candles and glow sticks to light it up inside. Along with our munchies and a good movie we had a really enjoyable evening. Again in away from the world in our own little crazy bubble.. picture this a student accommodation building with house party's and lots of people.. then there's us in a fort in the room next door.. yeah it was a memorable first Valentines alright.

Precious Amber Pet Collars

I had to share these gorgeous pet collars I got recently because they ain't no ordinary collar. Precious Amber Pet collars are real natural chunks of Amber made to naturally, chemical-free deter fleas and ticks. Not only are they natural and organic they're so gorgeously made which a beautiful chain and being delivered in a lovely little cotton bag.

"Amber collars for dogs and cats by Precious Amber Pets is the natural tick and flea protection tool. Suitable for dogs and cats, even if they are allergic, pregnant or nursing. 100% chemical free, no insecticides. Safe for humans and animals, no secondary effects on your pet or family member. Suitable for pets with illness, senior and hyper pets or those recovering from traumas / injuries / surgeries. Powerful weapon against parasites + great looking pet accessory !
When worn on pet the friction with their fur releases aromatic terpenes from amber that repels ticks and fleas. Baltic amber fossilised tree resin contains natural essential oils. The resinous smell of the amber called terpenes, which derives from the friction of the amber with the pet's fur, and which parasites do not like are responsible for them feeling uncomfortable." http://preciousamber.ie/

I got the thin chain one for my cat as its so light she won't even notice it. How gorgeous is the pattern on the clasp? I just love this natural earthy vibes.

I got the one with a buckle for my dog as he still thinks hes a puppy and runs around like a mad man so wanted something a bit more durable.. still just as beautiful though <3
Cant recommend these enough for pet owners as they are so much healthier for the animals and also they can last up to two years so are well worth the price.
They have a range of products also available for people so check out their website.
